For years, I felt awful every time I had to cancel plans.

💭 “They’re going to think I’m flaky.”
💭 “What if they stop inviting me?”
💭 “I don’t want to be a burden.”

But after countless nights of pushing through pain just to avoid letting people down, I realized—the only person I was letting down was myself.

Now? I don’t feel guilty for canceling when I need to. Because:

✔ My real friends understand.
✔ My health is more important than someone else’s disappointment.
✔ I don’t owe anyone an explanation beyond, “I’m not feeling up to it today.”

If someone can’t handle my reality, they’re not my people. And that’s okay.

If you need permission to put yourself first, here it is: Cancel when you need to. The right people will understand.

Stay Strong.
