If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that Crohn’s is unpredictable. One minute, you’re fine. The next? You’re in full-blown survival mode. That’s why I never leave home without my Crohn’s emergency kit.
Here’s what I pack:
✔ Bathroom essentials: Flushable wipes, extra toilet paper (because some places don’t care about your emergency), and a travel-size air freshener (because dignity).
✔ Medications: Pain relievers, anti-nausea meds, antidiarrheals (if safe for me to take), and anything else I might need on short notice.
✔ Spare clothes: Because, you know why.
✔ Safe snacks: Crackers, bananas, applesauce pouches—things that won’t betray me.
✔ Water bottle: Dehydration is real, especially after a bad flare.
✔ Distraction items: A book, phone charger, and headphones. Anything to help pass time if I’m stuck in a bathroom or waiting room.
Having an emergency kit means I’m prepared—because Crohn’s doesn’t wait for a convenient time to strike.
Stay Strong.
