Fatigue is a beast. Some days, my body feels like it’s made of lead, and keeping up with my kids feels impossible.

But over the years, I’ve learned a few tricks to make it work.

Low-energy bonding activities.
When I can’t run around, we color, do puzzles, read books, or snuggle up for a movie.

I pace myself.
I don’t try to do it all at once. If we’re going to the park, I make sure I rest beforehand. If I know I have a big day ahead, I keep the day before low-key.

I let go of the guilt.
Sometimes, I just can’t keep up. And that’s okay. I remind myself that kids don’t need a supermom—they just need me.

I embrace “rest days.”
If I’m completely wiped out, I make it a “cozy day.” We stay in pajamas, eat easy meals, and just relax.

Keeping up with kids is hard. Keeping up with kids while battling Crohn’s? Even harder. But I do my best, and that’s enough.

Stay Strong!
